Description

This program has been designed to cover the work required before the emergency services or specialist response team arrives and provides knowledge and skills to building occupants to handle a broad range of workplace emergency situations.

This is a tailored program encompassing workplace policies and procedures, safe work practices in accordance with legislative requirements and Australian Standards 3745-2010 Planning for Emergencies in Facilities or 4083-2010 Health Care Facilities (depending on business industry).

This program highlights the responsibility on building occupants in the workplace to identify, prevent and report potential workplace emergency situations. This requirement is consistent with the legislative obligations of employees as prescribed in OHS legislation. The unit may also be used for planning for future operations in the workplace.
